On 17 May 2021, NACE took part in a stakeholders’ engagement to provide meaningful inputs to the draft Mines and Minerals Development Bill 2020. During the deliberation, eight recommendations were proffered and shared with the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Resources and the National Minerals Agency.
The journey to review the draft Act has been a long process, but today marks a significant day when stakeholders like NACE were accorded the privilege to be part of a consultative meeting to valid
ate the draft Mines and Minerals Development Bill 2020.
NACE has been providing overarching support to sector players and to see that the Mines and Minerals Development Bill 2020 reflects the aspirations of the people and benefits Serra Leoneans and communities in the mining environment.
At this juncture, NACE is actively participating in the process to see that the final product of the Mines and Minerals Development Bill 2020 becomes a document that is good for companies, communities and Sierra Leone.
